No! I get this question all the time from my female clients. Lifting heavy will not make you big and bulky! When following the right nutrition and fitness routine you will get a leaner, toned physique.
This really depends on your health and fitness level and your goals. A minimum of 3 days a week is best to see results. Most adults should get 150 minutes of moderate intensity cardio a week, 75 minutes of vigorous intensity, or a combination of moderate and vigorous intensity exercise per week.
Resistance training and flexibility training should be practiced at least twice per week.
I always recommend getting in smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day. I recommend each meal have around 20 grams of protein.
I don't recommend eating right before training, but afterwards I tell my clients to get in a protein shake and 1/2 cup of fruit to replenish the muscles.
